Wake (UP!) County, NC

This week, I WAS going to come out of my anti-political-commentary shell to go off on the school board of Wake County, North Carolina, who voted recently to cease a long-standing and highly successful intergration program which made it the envy of other school districts nationwide. I learned about this ridiculous measure from this Washington Post article.  

Unfortunately, I was a little slow on the uptake - fail on my part.

There is NOTHING I can say that would do a better job at pointing out the idiocy, absurdity, and perhaps classism and racism inherent to Wake County’s decision than this comment thread on Fark.com and this segment from The Colbert Report.
